Would you like to work on business-critical IT and data protection matters at the forefront of technology and digital business – in a role where you will, early in your career, work closely with clients, take responsibility and develop your legal judgement in high-quality assignments?
Sharp Cookie Advisors is a specialised business law firm focusing on IT law, data protection and digital business. We work closely with our clients on complex and business-critical matters, often at the intersection of law, technology and commercial decision-making. Our work includes AI development and implementation, cloud services, GDPR, SaaS agreements and digital business models, advising both fast-growing tech companies and established international groups.
You will join a high-performing specialist environment with a clear focus on quality, judgement and efficient delivery. Our team is close-knit and collaborative, with short decision-making paths and strong opportunities for development. You will work closely with our founder and Partner Sofia Edvardsen, one of Sweden’s leading experts in IT and internet law, and gain practical insight into how modern business law is delivered. Our focus is on business value, quality and innovation rather than traditional manual document production.
The role
As an Associate, you will be an integral part of our client teams. You will work closely with partners and colleagues on ongoing matters and be involved throughout the process – from understanding the client’s business and objectives to analysing, structuring and delivering practical legal solutions.
We use tools to reduce unnecessary routine work and focus instead on high-quality legal analysis, risk assessment and business-oriented legal advice. You will be given early responsibility for substantive legal work – including reviewing AI-assisted material – and are expected to progressively develop your legal judgement and take responsibility for the quality of your work.
Key responsibilities
- Business law advisory: Prepare and contribute to legal research and analyse legal issues within IT law, data protection (GDPR), intellectual property/licensing and commercial contracts.
- Quality assurance and advisory work: Review and develop legal deliverables, ensuring a high standard of legal quality in a fast-moving, technology-driven environment.
- Client interaction and negotiations: Support partners in contract negotiations and participate in client interactions alongside senior lawyers and relevant client stakeholders.
- Compliance: Contribute to the development of best practice in AI governance and privacy, including through collaboration with international networks such as IAPP.
- Business development: Contribute to the firm’s growth by developing our knowledge base and supporting broader business development initiatives.
About you
We are looking for someone who combines strong legal fundamentals with a genuine interest in how technology is transforming business.
You are ambitious, curious, proactive and motivated to develop in complex legal work.
You have:
- A Swedish law degree (LL.M. or equivalent) with strong academic results
- 0–2 years of experience from a law firm, in-house legal team or relevant authority (e.g. IMY, PTS)
- A strong interest in IT law, the tech sector and compliance
- The ability to work in a structured manner and contribute to high-quality deliverables
- Excellent written and spoken Swedish and English
- The ability to work independently while involving others at the right time
It is an advantage if you:
- Have experience of, or a strong interest in, AI tools and legal tech
- Have a background in economics or technology, providing a deeper understanding of clients’ business environments
Above all, you are curious and proactive in learning. You take initiative, explore new questions and share early thoughts, questions and suggested next steps.
Why Sharp Cookie Advisors?
We offer an environment for those who want to develop quickly through exposure to high-quality and business-critical work. You will be an integrated part of the team and have a real impact on the work we deliver.
- Early responsibility: You will work closely with clients and complex matters from day one
